Sheilah Roberts Lukins was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland but now lives in Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s with her husband. She has no pets at the moment, except for the occasional house mouse and anyone who makes their home in her garden. She has published three non-fiction books, Rain, Drizzle and Fog (Boulder Publications), For Maids Who Brew and Bake (Flanker Press), nominated in the special interest category of Cuisine Canada's National Culinary Book Awards, and Bottoms Up: A History of Alcohol in Newfoundland and Labrador, Gourmand Award winner, Best in the World Food & Drink Culture 2020. Full Speed Ahead: Errol's Bell Island Adventure was the first book in the Errol’s Adventures series, winner of the Bruneau Family children/YA 2018 Award. This was followed by Flying Ace: Errol’s Gander Adventure, long listed in 2020 for the same award, and most recently, Once Upon An Iceberg: Errol's Twillingate Adventure, shortlisted for the Bruneau Family children/YA Award 2022.
